Introduction

Established in 1999, the Federation of Asian Motorcycle Industries (FAMI) is a nonprofit association currently comprising of seven motorcycle associations in Asia-that is from Indonesia, Japan, Malaysia, Philippines, Taiwan, Thailand and Vietnam. FAMI constantly promotes activities through consultation, coordination and cooperation initiatives with regard to motorcycle industry within the region.

In 2006, FAMI became a member of the International Motorcycle Manufacturers Association (IMMA), the Geneva-based body that represents the motorcycle industry worldwide. The motorcycle industry has exponentially becoming significant and crucially important towards many local and global issues especially on safety and environment matters.

Hence, FAMI with it's entirety will always navigate the industry to face those challenges and obstacles. Thus, FAMI will adapt to any changes or demand for requirement towards meeting the standard of living of the people, rules and regulation set by the relevant authorities and stakeholders, harmonization of regulations or even making the global earth an environmental friendly and safe place to be.
